The first module this year will take place between 07-09 July, when we will present an international selection of short films 2023, exploring the interplay between dance - virtual and real, movement, image, and cinema. We will have the opportunity to approach the body through a performative photography atelier in an urban space accessible to a broader audience. In parallel, this time our guests will be the future authors of the Translation on Air section and guest filmmakers from the film program, who will have the opportunity to meet our audience for informal conversations and discussions. To draw a parallel between the impact and work for dance for screen and live dance we have also prepared two performances by leading names from the Bulgarian scene - Violeta Vitanova with her latest work SORROW ISLAND, THE NORTH END OF OUTER HOPE, inspired by the poem Sorrow Island, The North End of Outer Hope by the Hungarian writer, visual and sound poet Kinga Toth, and Jana Pencheva, who will present a work in progress - Garden/Garden, in which she again collaborates with the Varna musician Tsvetan Momchilov.#TheWayWeMoveMatters

Moving Body platform is devoted to connecting artists, mediums, audiences and communities through contemporary dance, performances and films that are on the border of video art and dance. The event is held annually in Varna in October. At the heart of the initiative and the design of the program are the questions - What makes us move? How do we move? Towards what we are moving? This concept is realized in a platform for sharing know-how that gives children, youngsters, professional dancers, artists from different fields and moving enthusiasts the possibility to have an encounter with active dancers and choreographers who come to share their experience with them, their arsenal of techniques and philosophical thoughts and ideas around the notion of movement.
