This year the fifth edition of MOVING BODY festival will present its program during the first and the last weekends of November 4 - 8 and 27 - 29 Hale 3 will be transformed into its main location: for movement, resistance, thinking, and aiming, for discussing, choreographic workshops, lectures, performances, and for short films. We’ll reflect on topics focused on the non-verbal dance, the celebratory dance, the political body, the protesting body, danger, risque, future, and on what happens before the end, wherever it is found. Due to COVID-19, places are limited, but you will have the opportunity to join us online. Above all, ‘Moving body’ will celebrate togetherness in experiencing live the specially curated festival program, where the intensity of the experience depends on the level of readiness to dive into the unknown. We strongly believe in the world’s everlasting need for art: art that reflects on the present, that suggests new trajectories for movement, contextualizes and renews ‘here and now’ #TheWayWeMoveMatters
Moving Body platform is devoted to connecting artists, mediums, audiences and communities through contemporary dance, performances and films that are on the border of video art and dance. The event is held annually in Varna in October. At the heart of the initiative and the design of the program are the questions - What makes us move? How do we move? Towards what we are moving? This concept is realized in a platform for sharing know-how that gives children, youngsters, professional dancers, artists from different fields and moving enthusiasts the possibility to have an encounter with active dancers and choreographers who come to share their experience with them, their arsenal of techniques and philosophical thoughts and ideas around the notion of movement.
