Barcelona International Dance Exchange, in collaboration with Our Movement Lab are happy to present B>CURIOUS Lab, part of Moving Body Platform.

B>Curious Lab is an introduction to BIDE’s main methodology ‘B>Lab’. It is a program for dance and laboratory research, primarily aimed at artists engaged in dance and movement or other disciplines with a movement background. The laboratory will conclude with a sharing of the results in front of a small audience.

FOCUS: A transitional programme of dance and laboratory-based exploration for recent graduates or vocational dance students. This program follows the B>Landing structure, introducing students to the B>Lab Methodology, whilst offering a safe space for students to break conventional studio approaches and step beyond their comfort zone. Students are also introduced to frameworks for cultural management through task-based collective project design.

BIDE – Barcelona International Exchange is an organisation based in Barcelona, that provides programs for creative exchange and networking between performing arts professionals worldwide, through a unique tool called B>Lab.

Sebastián García Ferro– B>Curious Lab Mentor, Artistic director of BIDE
Choreographer, dancer, performer and composer living in Barcelona since 2005; Sebastián runs his own dance company established in the city of Barcelona since 2000.
He has worked in and premiered 22 pieces of contemporary dance, having been awarded different prizes including the Mercat de les Flors Tot Dansa Award in 2011, IMEB and Institut del Teatre, 1st Prize at Masdanza (2007) and 2nd Prize at the Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid (2006) with his piece “Back”, 3rd Prize at Salt (2006) with “On Your Mark”, as well as 10 theatre pieces and over 20 performances and installations, both as an individual creator and with different companies from South America and Europe.
Zoë Gadd – B>Curious Lab Mentor, Artistic Collaborator BIDE
Zoë Leigh Gadd is a dance practitioner, choreographer, and educator working primarily in contemporary dance and musical theatre. In 2008, she began her career as a dance teacher. Zoë founded her own business, Dance Ahead – Collaborative Choreography, which produces immersive dance theatre projects in unconventional spaces. She has additional interests in audience immersion, intergenerational community projects, and interdisciplinary practices. Zoë’s research has led her to create a new technique combining language and movement – Kinetic Reading.
