Breath
07’48, Romania, 2021
Director: Catalin Rugina, Choreographer: Maria-Luiza Dimulescu, Composer – Adrian Piciorea, Producer: Ginger Film
Breath aims to make a critical and ironic foray, in rhythm of dance, into the destructive universe of the human being. On a hot day, five young people get stuck with their car in the middle of a golden field. Suddenly, the trunk opens and the story begins.
Cătălin Rugină is a Romanian cinematographer, passionate about visual storytelling. He has a BA in Cinematography from the National University of Theatre and Film “I.L. Caragiale”. He has also started an MA in Cinematography at the same university. The intense study of light and the different means of rendering the image determined him to find a balance between technique and creation, always looking for creative visual expressions, useful for the dramatic structure. He strongly believes in the artistic intuition educated simultaneously with the discipline of aesthetic taste.
The film will be part of the screening on 30.10.2022, 17:00-18:30, Festival and Congress Centre – Varna.
